Configure Approval Gate

Add an Approval Gate to any pipeline in two stages: step setup, then pipeline notification configuration.

Open the target pipelineNavigate to Pipelines and open the pipeline where you want to insert the gate

Add a new pipeline stepClick + to insert a new step at the desired position in the workflow.

Select Approval Gate as the toolIn Step Setup, set Tool to Approval Gate and click Save.

Configure step settingsUnder Step Settings, optionally enable Send Custom Message to add a custom message for approvers. Provide a Point of Contact, then click Save

Configure pipeline notificationsProceed to Pipeline Notifications Configuration. This step is required — the Approval Gate does not function until notifications are configure.

Approval Gate configuration is only complete once both the step setup and pipeline notification are saved. Learn more in the Pipeline Notifications guide.
