backward-stepGetting Started

Go from zero to running your first agent

Follow these four phases in order. Most teams are up and running in under 30 minutes.

Configure Settings → General (ROI)

Navigate to Settings → General. Set your Developer Hourly Cost (default $45/hr). This single value powers all ROI calculations across IDP Insights — don't skip it.

Invite your team via User Management

Go to Settings → User Management. Add team members with Name, Email, and Role. Assign at least one other Platform Admin, required for the two-person approval process on resource deletions.

Connect your tools in Connectors

Navigate to Connectors. Start with GitHub (SCM) and AWS (Cloud Provider) — these unlock the Repository and Infrastructure agents. Add Jira, New Relic, and PagerDuty to unlock full capabilities.

Run your first agent — Repository Management

Go to IDP Agents → Repository Management. In the Intelligence Layer, type something like: "Create a repo for the payments-service using Node.js microservice template". Click Analyze Intent, review the auto-filled config, apply Smart Suggestions, then hit Provision Repo.

Check IDP Insights to see your ROI

Navigate to IDP Insights. You'll see your first execution logged with hours saved, dollar value, and success rate. This is your baseline — every agent run adds to your org's total ROI.

Before connecting AWS: Ensure your IAM user has the necessary permissions for EC2, RDS, S3, ECS, EKS, and Lambda provisioning. The platform will surface a warning if credentials are misconfigured.
