General & ROI Configuration
Set the financial baseline that powers all ROI calculations across the platform. This is the first thing to configure before anything else.
Start here. The Developer Hourly Cost is the single input that makes every ROI number in IDP Insights meaningful. Set it once and the platform does the rest.

ROI Configuration
Developer Hourly Cost (USD)
The fully-loaded hourly cost of a developer on your team. Default is $45/hour. This value multiplies against engineering hours saved by each agent run to calculate dollar ROI.
How this value is used
IDP Insights ROI Engineering hours saved × hourly cost = total dollar value of automation. Shown on the Insights overview dashboard.
Per-Agent ROI Cards Each agent's monthly savings are calculated using this rate, visible in Execution History and Overview.
Projected Annual ROI Monthly total × 12. Used in ROI Analysis to forecast the yearly financial impact of your automation program.
Execution History Saved Column Each row in Execution History shows exactly how many hours — and dollars — that specific run saved.
Example ROI Calculation
Developer Hourly Cost: $45 Repository Provisioning time saved: 4 hours (vs 3-5 day manual process) ROI per execution: 4h × $45 = $180 Monthly (10 repos): $1,800 / month
